The inspiration for the Melchor Technical Test™ came from a simple question:

How do we objectively measure technical development in soccer?

In many sports, athletes routinely participate in assessments, combines, and performance testing to establish a baseline and track improvement over time.

Soccer has traditionally relied more heavily on observation, opinion, and subjective evaluation.

While coaching experience remains important, players and parents often struggle to answer key questions:

• Where does the player currently stand?
• What technical areas need the most attention?
• How can progress be measured over time?

The Melchor Technical Test™ was created to help answer those questions through objective assessment and measurable development.

Every action in soccer begins with technical execution.

The Melchor Technical Test™ focuses on five fundamentals that consistently appear throughout the game:

1. 🔵 Ball Control
2. 🟠 Passing
3. 🟡 Dribbling
4. 🟣 Heading (Ages 11 up)
5. 🟢 Shooting 

These areas create the technical foundation players need to keep possession, create chances, solve problems, and execute in match situations.

Players complete a structured series of technical activities designed to measure ball control, passing, dribbling, heading, and shooting.

Each activity is scored objectively and combined into a Melchor Technical Score™.

After testing, players receive a parent-friendly report showing strengths, areas for improvement, and what to train next.
